The competencies acquired in the study of this unit will equip the learner with knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable him/her plan, implement, monitor and evaluate immunization programmes.

Immunization is one of the cost effective community health preventive strategies against immunizable diseases. Immunization is one of the functions performed by Public Health Officers upon successful completion of their training.
